Dated 1846. This issue has Toronto engraved above the image of St. George defeating the dragon on the bottom center. "FOUR" protector above 'Toronto' in very bold brick red. At upper center below the bank name is a seated Lion with an allegorical woman depicted as Britannia. "Agricultural Commerce" allegorical vignette at right, and Queen Victoria (Chalon portrait) in oval at left. The note is uniface, but the back shows the very bold printing of the reverse side of the front's "FOUR" overprint. Just a handful of these examples are known. A rare opportunity and worthy addition to even the most advanced of Canadian collections.
