MICHAEL VII, 1071-1078. EL Histamenon Nomisma (4.38 gms), Constantinople Mint. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5. Scratches.
S-1868. Obverse: Facing bust of Christ Pantokrator; Reverse: Crowned facing bust of Michael, holding globus cruciger and labarum. A rather attractive scyphate issue, this specimen exhibits good centering and some remaining luster. As noted, there are a few marks near the edge on the reverse, typical for the electrum examples of this period.
