1.26 gms. S-1257; North-848. Paxs type. Obverse: Crowned bust facing, holding scepter and with trefoil on shoulder; Reverse: Cross pattee; P-A-X-S in annulets in quarters. Though exhibiting some roughness and evidence of repair, this piece nevertheless represents a decent example of a coin from the man who led the Norman invasion at the Battle of Hastings.
