INDIA. Mughal Empire. Restrike Cancer Zodiac Rupee, AH (10)28 Year 17 (ca. 19th Century Striking). Choice About Uncirculated.
cf. KM-150.10. Delicately toned at the edges with strong luster remaining in the fields. A faint hint of central incompleteness could be confused for wear. The nicest example of this 19th century restrike of the famous Cancer Zodiac Rupee of Jahangir that we have seen, with the next finest being an example sold in a Badwin's auction in 2008 for a hammer price of 400 GBP (nearly $800 hammer at the time).
