SPAIN. Soberania Nacional 100th Anniversary Silver Medal, 1968. PCGS SPECIMEN-64 Gold Shield.
Patterned after the provisional medallic 5 Pesetas issue of 1868, with "SOBERANIA NACIONAL - GOBIERNO PROVISIONAL", and in smaller print "I CENTENARIO 1868-1968" and "ACUNACION 500 MEDALLES" on the reverse. A brilliant prooflike example of the type with attractive sea-green color along the edges on both sides. Seeming much rarer than the mintage suggests, with this being the first example we've seen or heard of.
