CHINA. Chihli (Pei Yang Arsenal). Dollar (7 Mace 2 Candareens), Year 23 (1897). PCGS Genuine--Tooled, EF Details Gold Shield.
L&M-444; K-186; KM-Y-65.1; WS-0611. Triangle-eyed dragon variety. A well struck and attractive example of the type displaying light mottled grey patina with hints of blue iridescence on the obverse. Several small scratches on the reverse near the rim at eleven o'clock long since toned over matching the rest of the coin. Despite its shortcomings a pleasant and presentable example for the collector on a budget.
Estimate: $1500.00- $2000.00
