CHINA. Kiangnan. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), ND (1897). PCGS Genuine--Repaired, VF Details Gold Shield.
L&M-210a; K-66a; Y-145.1; WS-0787. Variety with single stroke in "Province" character and accent mark over "S" of "CANDAREENS" on the obverse. Ornamental edge. The obverse die with the accent mark over the "S" seems to be quite a bit more SCARCE than the die without. A pleasantly toned example with well-detailed dragon and repair in center of reverse that has masked most of the Manchu script. Despite the noted impairment an attractive survivor of this highly popular and sought after type. An interesting die variety that this cataloger was unaware of prior to this example, certain to see spirited bidding from the specialist.

Estimate: $2000.00- $3000.00
