CHINA. Tibet. Study Collection of Imitative and Contemporary Counterfeit Tangkas (22 Pieces), ND (ca. 19th-20th Century). Grade Range: VERY GOOD to EXTREMELY FINE.
A highly interesting and advanced collection imitations of Class C, D, and F Tangkas with much variety. Also includes one counterfeit 5 Sho (1909), and a counterfeit Mohar (1722). Quality varies widely from quite well made with excellent style and execution to very crude in manufacture. Some are cast, struck in copper with and without silver wash, struck in low purity silver, or struck in base metal. Sold in attributed plastic flips. Some have been cleaned, have environment damage and/or have other defects. Close personal inspection is advised and will reward the diligent bidder. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. An excellent study group for the specialist looking to expand their collection.
