CHINA. Dollar, ND (1924). PCGS MS-61 Gold Shield.
L&M-865; K-683; Hsu-25; WS-0107. Tuan Chi Jui type commemorating the "Peaceful Unification" of China. A bright, flashy, and lustrous dollar with razor-sharp detail and light peripheral toning.

Evidence of being overstruck on a Fengtien Dragon Dollar (L&M-482 or 483) most apparent in the central characters on the reverse. Under magnification this provinces unique style of flame ball flanked by the dragons whiskers can be made out. This is the only example of this type that we are aware of either stated or confirmed as being overstruck on an earlier coin. An absolutely fascinating example destine for an advanced collection.
