LAOS. 5000 Kip, 1975. NGC MS-67.
KM-17; D-311. Mintage: 400. Displaying the Wat Phra Kio Museum on the reverse. Proof quality, but technically a "Circulation Strike" issue, with the cameo frost on the designs displaying less depth than the full Proof variations. Also, the "925" countermark appears after the "S" in "LAOS" and before the pellet on the reverse, which we haven't seen on any other offering. In fact, this is the only "Circulation Strike" example we have seen, which suggests it is many multiples rarer than the Proof of the same design. Sold with the original packaging and insert which designates this piece as "Finition BU."
