ATTICA. Athens. Ca. 455-440 BC. AR tetradrachm (22mm, 17.13 gm, 2h). NGC AU 4/5 - 3/5. Early transitional issue. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with three laurel leaves and vine scroll / ΑΘΕ, owl standing right, head facing, olive sprig and crescent moon behind, all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1597. Starr Group V. Well struck on a compact flan.
