New Brunswick Private 1/2 Penny Token ND (1845) MS63 Brown NGC, Br-914 (R4), NB-3. F. McDermott, importer. An early business card which likely saw some use as a halfpenny token as well, this example is the finest of its type that we have encountered by far. We note that the XF Details PCGS-certified example we offered in Auction 3051, Lot 30390, sold for $1,175 including Buyer's Premium, a testament to the scarcity of this type and the value placed on even impaired, lower-grade specimens. A selection of this caliber is a true delight to offer, exhibiting sandy walnut tones over underlying lustrous surfaces and a general state of preservation that positions the representative as the finest certified by NGC.
