Republic Souvenir Peso 1897 MS62 NGC, Gorham mint, KMX-M1. Mintage: 828. Variety with Date widely spaced and PAT 97 on truncation. By far the rarest and most desirable of the 1897 Souvenir Peso varieties, the tiny mintage of this type especially apparent when set against the mintage figures for the "close date"--between 4200 and 4800 depending on the subvariety. Additionally dove-gray with light champagne backlight and bold raised rims, elevating the overall appeal yet further.
