Menelik II brass Pattern Birr EE 1892 (1899) MS64 NGC, Paris mint, KM19 var (brass), Gill-M8 var (lettered edge). No privy marks. A puzzling Pattern variety seemingly unrecorded in Gill, sharing the M8 type's lack of privy marks, yet struck in brass rather than copper, further displaying a lettered edge rather than the plain edge recorded for M8. This offering represents the only example certified by NGC, the first that we have offered, and is likely one of exceedingly few survivors, if not unique. Very well-preserved and quite attractive, with a sharp strike yielding ample detail.
