Carolingian. Charlemagne (768-814) Denier ND (793-814) XF45 NGC, Bourges mint, Class 3, Rob-956, MEC I-740, MG-174, Dep-175 (7 examples studied), Kluge-184. 1.51gm. A very rare post-reform subtype from this mint with crescents in the quarters of the cross, appearing pleasantly unbent and of incredibly fine style, the flan entirely full and nicely toned. Highly presentable for the assigned grade.
