Edward III (1325-1377) gold Écu d'or à la chaise ND (1344-1345) MS61 NGC, Bordeaux mint, Fr-2, Elias-33c (RR), W&F-38A 2/a (R). 4.51gm. +ЄDVVARDVS: DЄI x | x GRA x | x AGL: FRAnCIЄ: RЄX (crescent on serif of L), Edward, crowned and enthroned within tressure with trefoils in spandrels; sword in right hand; shield with arms of France ancien to right / +XP (crescent above trefoil) C: VInCIT: XPC: RЄGNAT: XPC: IMPЄRAT, ornamented cross within quadrilobe, stylized in-facing lis in angles, trefoils in spandrels. Quite rare with light toning within the devices and slight die-shift noted on the obverse. The highest graded example we have yet handled.
