It is easy to see why City View talers remain popular with collectors, and the example here offered is certainly no exception, displaying a highly detailed view of the old Frankfurt city alongside a vibrant ship-filled river scene. The reverse imagery is no less impressive, the struck details projecting boldly toward the viewer and begging for a closer look. Lightly toned, with a few areas of variegated charcoal coloration visible across the obverse.
