Kings of All England. Eadgar (959-975) Penny ND (959-972/3) XF45 ANACS, York mint, Fastolf as moneyer, Pre-reform Circumscription Cross type, S-1134, N-748. 1.15gm. +EADGAR: REX, small cross pattee / +FA•SToLFI MON (S engraved as retrograde Z). A highly presentable and very well-predigreed representative of Eadgar's pre-reform coinage graced with a soft dolphin-gray coloration that has begun to golden with time. On the whole very well manufactured for the period with virtually no weakness, made all the more interesting by trace amounts of die rust and die cracks. A small edge chip above the E in EADGAR is noted for accuracy.
