A seemingly more elusive variety of the series, marked by a quatrefoil over the sail and lack of other common features, such as the broken annulet on the side of the ship seen with the S-1742 type. The coin displays ample detail, and bestows a degree of visual satisfaction that seems outsized for the assigned grade, the color a deep aged gold, with a glistening quality to the rubbed higher points of the design.
