Anne Crown 1713 AU Details (Stained) NGC, KM536, S-3603, ESC-1349. "Staining" as a designation is often vague and foundationless, as it can refer to patchy or irregular tone; this piece shows localized areas of deep red-gold patina but these are not incongruous with the heavy toning across the rest of the planchet. Indeed, this coin is eye-catchingly attractive with sharp striking detail and only trivial wear to Anne's hair, original luster breaking through the thick gray tone like lightning flashing through clouds. An unusually appealing piece for this type.
