A handsome and perhaps more attainable version of this most desirable 5 Guineas type, struck from specie attained from Britain's vast colonial holdings by the East India Company. Despite a mildly peppered texture to the obverse and reverse fields, likely owing both to a light cleaning and its time spent in jewlery, the overall eye appeal is still quite strong, the details of the stamp boldly impressed and only light signs of friction present on the highest points of the design.
