Great Britain
George IV gold 2 Pounds 1823 MS62 NGC, KM690, S-3798. Highly lustrous, an appealing example of this one-year type with scattered hairlines and marks in the field in line with the grade yet otherwise scant evidence of handling. George's low-relief portrait is superbly rendered, slightly frosted in contrast to the flashier surfaces behind, as is the dynamic reverse scene of St. George slaying the dragon. Difficult to obtain in Mint State, a charming specimen.
