Ottoman Empire. Mehmed II (2nd Reign, AH 855-886 / AD 1451-1481) gold Sultani AH 883 (AD 1478/9) MS62 ANACS, Constantinople mint (in Turkey), A-1306 (R), Pere-80var (reverse), Damali-7-K-A1-883. A strikingly pristine representative of this most popular Ottoman gold type, hardly a wisp of handling, post-mint damage, or even the slightest wavy to the flan detectable. Perhaps just a bit nicer than the MS64-graded piece we offered in April, and certainly a must for the grade-conscious Ottoman collector. Mislabeled on the holder as AH 1883.
