Florence. Republic gold Florin ND (1st Semester of 1463) MS62 NGC, CNI-XIIa.37, MIR-27/5 (R). 3.45gm. Broad type. Lorenzo di Nerio di Angelo Vettori as mintmaster. •+• FLOR • | • ENTIA •, stylized lily / • S • IOHA | NNES • B •, St. John the Baptist, nimbate and mantled, standing facing, cross-topped staff in left hand, clamshell with L above over right. A fantastic representative, free of any singularly distracting marks, the engraver's guide on each side especially thick. Seemingly conservatively grading, and an entirely laudable example.
