Republic gold 8 Escudos 1854 LIMA-MB AU55 NGC, Lima mint, KM148.4. A lovely example having a sparkly golden luster, light apricot toning around the devices and legends, and a sunny-gold hue. We note for clarity a tiny lamination flaw on the right edge of the shield, but otherwise the coin lacks the flan flaws typically found on this issue.
