Nicholas I copper Novodel 10 Kopecks 1830-СПБ MS63 Brown NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Bit-H922 (R2), Brekke-275 (Rare). Mintmaster's initials missing. Obv. Crowned Imperial eagle with date below. Rev. Value with mintmark below. We are not completely convinced that this piece is a Novodel, as it shows a wide tail on the eagle and the Novodel has a narrow tail. We feel that it is possibly Bit-921 and Brekke-273 with a mintage of only 25 pieces. Very sharp strike with faint traces of luster around the obverse devices. A few small marks are noted, mostly on the reverse. Very rare. From a Glendining auction, with the original sales tag.
