Republic gold 1/2 Pond 1893 VF Details (Mount Removed) PCGS, Pretoria mint, KM9.2. One of the rarest of the ZAR types and generally always found having been previously mounted and often suffering significant damage. This example is no exception, being ex jewelry and revealing some scratches along the neckline above the collar, having also been cleaned, giving it a bright yellow appearance. Nonetheless it is still a clear and reasonably attractive example of this elusive issue.
