ATTICA. Athens. Ca. 2nd-1st centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.91 gm, 10h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 4/5, flan flaw. New style coinage, ca. 134/3 BC, Timarchus, Nikago- and Antiochus, magistrates. Head of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with a vine scroll, Pegasus above undecorated upturned cheek flap, protomes of four horses on visor / Α-ΘΕ / TIM-APXOY / NIKAΓ / ANTIO/XOΣ, owl standing facing on overturned amphora engraved with K (10th month); anchor and star in left field, ΣΦ (contractor's initials) below, all within olive wreath.
