Ancients
SELEUCID KINGDOM. Antiochus Hierax (246-227 BC). AR tetradrachm (31mm, 17.04 gm, 12h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 4/5. Lampsacus, ca. 242-227 BC. Diademed head of idealized young king right, with curls at hairline and slightly wavy diadem ends, perhaps representing Antiochus Hierax / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ, Apollo, nude, sitting left on omphalus, testing arrow in right hand, left hand resting on grounded bow behind; tripod to inner left. SC 848.4.

Extremely rare - no examples found in sales archives and none plated in SC. SC describes the obverse as Antiochus I for the 848 series, however the portrait appears to be more correct for the 849 series. Also, SC does note that although Apollo is usually shown with slight drapery on right thigh, the reference notes for 848.4 list Houghton, ANSMS 23, dies A16-P40 with Apollo nude.
