Republic gold 20000 Reis 1914 AU Details (Cleaned) NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM497, LMB-733. Mintage: 1,980. A very scarce date of which notably few examples survive to the present day in any condition, the whole of the piece evincing a very sound strike for the grade, with the noted cleaning appearing confined mainly to the obverse. Only the third example of the type we have offered, and only the third to come to auction in recent decades.
