Frederick III Krone (4 Mark) 1666-GK AU50 NGC, KM276, Dav-3580, Hede-113A. A scarce type struck under the first absolute monarch of Denmark-Norway, that kingdom also being the first European absolute monarchy to be underpinned by law, a consequence of Kongeloven ("King's Law") of 1665. Argent surfaces with light toning throughout, alongside boldly detailed central devices. A small flan flaw is noted next to Frederick's monogram.
