Louis XIV gold Louis d'Or 1704-& MS61 NGC, Aix mint, KM365.24. Overstruck on an earlier Louis d'Or of the same monarch, possibly from Rouen (cf. KM334.3). An always coveted mint within the series, and the last example of this mint-date combination we offered in 2006, with heavy traces of the undertype, as well as thick die polish and remnants of the engraver's guide, clearly visible.
