Great Britain
George IV Mule Maundy 3 Pence 1828 MS64 NGC, KM-Unl. (cf. KM685.1/KM685.2), S-Unl. (cf. S-3818/S-3819), ESC-Unl. (cf. ESC-2444/ESC-2453). Pairing a Small Head die of 1822 with an 1828 reverse die. An apparently entirely unpublished mule presented here in stunningly gorgeous condition--hardly a mark over fully prooflike surfaces beaming with reflectivity and studded with die polish lines, while pinpoint precision persists throughout. Despite both dies only being listed in prooflike by the Standard Catalog of World Coins, ESC calls the Proof strikings for both dies R4-R5. Extremely rare and certainly conservatively graded.
