Great Britain
Victoria gold Specimen "Golden Jubilee" Medal 1887 UNC Detail (Tooled) PCGS, BHM-Unl., Eimer-Unl., Mussell-293. 30mm. 23.93gm. By C. Emptmeyer. A very rare presentation medal of which only 133 were reportedly produced, all of these presented to member of the Royal household and their personal guests. The noted tooling refers to a patch of scratches in front of the bust, the remainder of the medal appearing highly satin with just a few stray contact marks. A mount removal at 12 o'clock is also noted for precision, though, judging from a similar example sold by Spink in July of last year (Auction 18005, Lot 622), this type originally came with a suspension ring.
