Chur - Bishopric. Johann V Flugi von Aspermont gold Goldgulden ND (1601) XF45 NGC, KM44, Fr-196, HMZ-2-404a. 3.19gm. With the name and titles of Matthias. MON • NO • AV • EPISCO • CVR, crowned, mantled, and nimbate half figure of St. Luke facing, gospel in left hand, scepter in right / MATH • D • G • R • IM • S • A • V • G • BHR, globe with cross over double-headed eagle, crown above. Very fleeting as one of the few gold coins produced in Chur, slightly off-center though still clearly minted on a mildly oversized flan, lending the whole of the piece an attractive, medallic appearance. Sold with tag of Dr. Hans Nussbaum, Zürich.
