GREAT MONGOLS: temp. Chingiz Khan, 1206-1227, AV dinar (3.12g), NM, AH(6)18, A-A1967, clearly struck during the reign of Chingiz Khan, but the date is securely confirmed; about 15% flat strike, VF, RRR. Together with Zeno-169146 & 219659 (both from the same dies as this piece), the date can be accurately pieced together as "sana thamania 'ashar wa sitmi'a" for AH618; most likely struck at Badakhshan, as they are stylistically so similar to some dinars engraved with that mint name (cf. Zeno-181537, where the mint name is legible).
