GREAT MONGOLS: Anonymous, ca. 1220s-1230s, AV dinar (2.87g), Badakhshan, ND/DM, A-1965, obverse legend al-khaqan / al-'adil / al-a'zam, with the mint name above, part of Qur'an 9:33 in the margin, neatly engraved // standard kalima, uncertain margin, EF, RRR. All other anonymous Great Mongol dinars on CoinArchives and in our Auction #10 (December 2010) have the kalima on the obverse and cite the caliph al-Nasir li-din Allah on the reverse.
