IMAMNAGAR: AR rupee (11.35g), Imamnagar, AH1189 year 16, KM--, Zeno-176695 (this piece), in the name of Shah Alam II, full mint name, bold strike, choice EF, RRR, ex Paul Stevens Collection. Jan Lingen has posted on Zeno #102390: "The mint 'Imamnagar' is not yet located. However, the coins of this mint are very similar in execution to the issues of Khujista Bunyad (Aurangabad) mint, struck under the authority of the Nizams of Hyderabad. Accordingly, it has to be located in the Marathawada region of Maharashtra. Beed, Jalna and Zafarabad (Tembhurnee) are possible contenders. The coin is most likely to be an issue of the Nizam of Hyderabad."
Estimate: 500-600 USD
