Philippines Central Bank of Philippines 500 Pesos ND (1949) Pick 124c "Victory Series" PMG About Uncirculated 55. A stunning, high grade example of this highest denomination, which was convertible for $250 U.S. Dollars are the time. This Victory Series denomination had a limited issuance due to its extremely high face value. When the Central Bank of the Philippines opened in 1949, the fresh new banknotes from Thomas de la Rue were not prepared, so unused stocks of Victory Series notes were overprinted on the back "Central Bank of the Philippines". Completely fresh, original condition is easily seen on this example. Wax pencil bank notation is seen on the front.
