Saudi Arabia Monetary Agency 10 Riyals ND (1953) Pick 1 Haj Pilgrim Receipt PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. Currently occupying the top spot in the PMG Population Report, this handsome original is quite rare in this elite grade. Additionally, this example is the second note in a consecutive pair offered today. This is the first note issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, before they had approval to print actual banknotes. Although this type was supposed to be used as an exchange certificate, to meet the demand for local currency for traveling pilgrims, it nevertheless widely circulated within Saudi Arabia. This type was replaced by a larger sized 10 Riyals Pilgrim Receipt in 1954, hence the scarcity of this initial type. A rare opportunity to acquire a top graded example.
