LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 400-340 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 19 mm, 7.45 g, 7 h). Head of Demeter to right, her hair bound in sphendone. Rev. METAΠ Barley ear with leaf to right; above leaf, shell. HN Italy 1544. Noe 491. A beautifully toned piece of fine style. The reverse a bit weak, otherwise, good very fine.
