SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Marcus Aurelius. AD 161-180. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 13.10 g, 6h). Struck AD 178-179. Laureate head right / Eagle standing facing on leg and thigh of sacrificial animal, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; to right, palm frond above ram's head right; star in exergue. Prieur 162 (this coin); McAlee 579; RPC IV Online 7040/4 (this coin cited). Toned, a few deposits, light scratches, minor metal flaws. VF. Extremely rare, only two known to Prieur, two in CoinArchives, and four cited by the authors of RPC.
