SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Commodus. AD 177-192. AR Tetradrachm (24.5mm, 13.02 g, 5h). Struck AD 179. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing on leg and thigh of sacrificial animal, head and tail right, with wings spread; to lower left, star. Prieur 172; McAlee 633; RPC IV Online 7169. Toned, some porosity, metal flaws, a few deposits. Good VF. Extremely rare, only three known to Prieur, one, this coin, in CoinArchives, and two cited by the authors of RPC.
