Lucania, Thurium (c. 350 B.C.), silver Stater, head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet decorated with Scylla hurling a rock, rev. ΘOYΓIΩN, a bull charging right, ΣIM above, a fish to right in exergue, 8.00g, 5h (SNG ANS 1090 (these dies); HN Italy 1843). Perfectly centred, with the full crest of the helmet visible, of very attractive style, beautiful old cabinet tone, extremely fine.
