A late byzantine/medieval gnostic lead tessera or pendant.
Diam.: ....mm Weight: ... gr. Condition: F/VF. Brown natural patina.
Obverse: A rider on a horse running to right, holding a spear and killing a dragon
lying under the horse, a star over horse's head, all within a double linear border,
bearing a pseudo-inscription in greek.
Reverse: A coat of arms, a monster, a human (?) and a snake below, all within a
double linear border, bearing a pseudo-inscription in greek.
Most probably this was an amulet given by magicians, but it's not clear whether it was
a pendant, as the upper part is damaged.
