An intriguing late byzantine seal
Diam.: mm Weight: gr. Condition: VF. Nice dark natural patina.
Obverse: The bust of the Mother of God "Nikopoios", en face, nimbate, most probably holding Jesus Christ on her chest (here can't be seen), inscription: Μ(ΗΤΗ)Ρ- Θ(ΕΟ)Υ (Mother of God).

Reverse: An unusual inscription in the style of a monogram, most probably including the name ΑΛΕΞΙOC (Alexios), alongside with his surname or/and office.
