ATTICA, Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. AR Tetradrachm (34mm, 16.70 g, 12h). New Style coinage. Struck 165-149/8 BC. Helmeted head of Athena Parthenos right / Owl standing right, head facing, on amphora; monogram to left, aphlaston and monogram to right, E on amphora, ΣΦ below; all within wreath. Thompson 265 corr. (letter on amphora; same dies); HGC 4, 1602. Toned, slightly weak strike, some die wear on obverse. VF.
