Galba. AD 68-69. AR Denarius (17mm, 3.20 g, 6h). Uncertain Gallic (Vienna [Vienne]?) mint. Struck circa April to late autumn, AD 68. SER • GALBA • IMP, Galba on horseback riding right, brandishing [javelin] in right hand / TRES GALLIAE in exergue, three small bareheaded and draped female busts in a row right, representing the three Gauls (Gallia Aquitania, Gallia Belgica, and Gallia Lugdunensis); globe at point of each bust. RIC I 89; RSC 307; BMCRE 211; BN 45. Dark tone, some scratches and marks, areas of smoothing and crystallization on edge. Good Fine. Extremely rare.
