Justin II, helmeted, draped, and cuirassed, standing right, holding spear and globe / Large I between two stars; cross above; CON. DOC 59 (Justin II); MIBE 222 (this coin, illustrated); SB 362 (Justin II). Brown surfaces, some deposits. VF. An exceptional example.

David R. Sear in Byzantine Coins and Their Values 2nd ed. wrote: "The reattribution of this type to Justin II, made by Grierson and Bellinger in the Dumbarton Oaks Catalogue, has not received universal acceptance," p. 92.
