East African Protectorate, 50 rupees, Mombasa, 1 July 1912, red serial number D/1 37415, black and mauve, with mauve guilloches top left and right and value in green underprint at centre, signature of Henry Armstrong Smallwood low right, (Pick 4a, TBB B104b), in PMG Currency holder 62 uncirculated. A truly gorgeous note, extremely rare and probably the finest known example extant today.
